New Mumbai (2012) is a documentary discussing important developments during the Indian Civil War, the Dharavi slums of Mumbai were flooded with refugees looking to escape the conflict. The Mumbai authorities, distracted by defence of the city and facing an already overpopulated and poverty stricken slum could do little to maintain a semblance of civilised life in the area.

Top 20 Arms (2009) The amount of money that governments around the world spend on weapons is a topic never far from the headlines.  We need only look to the on-going debate over the replacement of Trident, which only last week David Cameron described as essential to maintaining Britain’s security.

Olympia (2010) is one outcome of a two-year project by McMurdo exploring the growth of social and humanoid robotics research in the UK and beyond. Shot at research facilities and museums around the world, the resulting series of works uses video and photography to explore how our willingness to engage with technology creates new relationships to machines.

In the landscape of colonial Portugal, Lourenço Marques was the the proud capital of the province of Mozambique. This work is devoted to those who lived and inhabited that time and place, in a city which since its independence in 1975, became known as Maputo.
